Scarecrow | The Wizard of Oz
Scarecrow | The Wizard of Oz
The Scarecrow is a polymer clay mixed media sculpture and is my interpretation of the character from The Wizard of Oz. Scarecrow’s head is hand-sculpted with polymer clay that is painted with acrylic paints and his body’s crafted with armature wire, which allows you to pose him in a variety ways that you choose.
Scarecrow’s handsome display base is made of stained wormy maple wood and has a handwritten name tag in ink on 100% cotton watercolor paper. Scarecrow's stands approximately 9" tall and the display base is 3" tall x 6" wide x 6" deep.
“You see, I can't even scare a crow. They come from miles around just to eat in my field and laugh in my face. Oh, I'm a failure because I haven't got a brain.”, Scarecrow
Scarecrow will arrive in a well-padded small shipping crate that will require a phillips screwdriver to open.
The Wizard of Oz's right there at the top of my all-time favorite all ages stories, whether it's the original text by Frank L. Baum, the classic film, or Skottie Young's graphic novel interpretation- there's something dear to me in this story that fills me with childlike nostalgia. So much so that I was inspired to do my own take on The Scarecrow.
